Questions buyers ask
Questions buyers ask
Which ceiling assembly do I need?
Non-ducted: the 9430E715 Deluxe (knobs on the grille) or the 9430-720 Bluetooth. Ducted: the 8430A635 heat-ready or 8430A633 cool-only ChillGrille, which include their control box, plus a 12 V wall thermostat. Coleman-Mach's 2025 catalog lists the same assemblies for the Mach 8 as for the Mach 3 and 15.
Will it clear my garage or carport?
It stands 8.25 in above the roof, the lowest rooftop unit Coleman-Mach builds. Measure from the ground to the roof surface at the opening and add 8.25 in.
Will it run on my generator?
Plan on 3,500 W to be safe. Coleman-Mach does not publish a starting current for the Mach 8 Plus, so we do not promise a small-inverter start. The 1497-3601 soft start cuts starting current up to 75 percent; ask us before you rely on a 2,200 W generator.
Can I add heat?
Yes, with a heat-ready ceiling assembly. The Mach 8 takes its own 6,000 BTU heat strip, the 37203-4551; the 38203-4551 used on the Mach 3, 15 and 10 does not fit.
